A dark, almost regal nose of black cherries, blackberries, steel and slate gets welcome levity from an undertone of violet. The dark fruit and metallic glint reappear on the palate, while chalky, chewy tannins accentuate a slow-developing dark chocolate note, and bright acid provides tartness through the finish.
