Winemaker's Notes

The Overlook Pinot Noir is created by sourcing grapes from the finest cool climate vineyards of California, so the wine created captures the essence of that vintage.Aromatic and complex with ripe red cherry, strawberry jam, pomegranate, brown spice and attractive autumn forest and floral notes. The palate is crisp and beautifully balanced with a mix of ripe red fruit and spice on entry, with savory tobacco and leather notes and a broad mineral texture on the mid-palate. Attractive fruit, spice and savory elements interact through the finish, framed with wonderfully fine tannins.

2015 Overlook Pinot Noir is an amazingly versatile food pairing wine that can be served with a diverse range of dishes from oak fire grilled salmon to pan seared five-spice duck breast or with grilled vegetables drizzled with olive oil, a few drops of balsamic glaze and freshly cut herbs.

Critical Acclaim

Aromas of roasted red cherry, sharp black raspberry and herb-tinged smoked pork in mulberry sauce make for a mouthwatering entry to this bottling. The oak is strong on the palate, giving a vanilla overlay to the cranberry and rose petal flavors. A hint of juniper shows on the finish.

90 points - Wilfred Wong of Wine.com
A consistent fine producer of Pinot Noirs, the 2015 Landmark Overlook—from three different AVAs: Santa Barbara County, Sonoma County, and Monterey County—has once again, come through with a nicely balanced example of this grape variety. This wine shows excellent freshness, pleasing red fruits, and some dried earth notes. Pair its complex nuances with a rosemary-accented leg of lamb. (Tasted: February 1, 2018, San Francisco, CA)
