This straight bourbon whiskey was named after Joseph William Dant, a Kentucky distiller during the 1830s who supposedly fashioned a still out of a hollowed out tree trunk (because copper stills were expensive). It's distilled using a sour mash process and bottled by the Heaven Hill-owned Dant Distillery Company in Bardstown, Kentucky. Like all "Bottled in Bond" whiskeys, this is made by one distiller, during the same distilling season (or calendar year), aged for at least 4 years in a bonded US government warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof.
