Sauvignon Blanc was the first white grape variety Cakebread planted in 1972 adjacent to the winery, and it's still thriving there today. Zesty citrus aromas and flavors and balanced acidity make this classic Sauvignon Blanc perfect for a multitude of dishes.
Ninety percent of this Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from estate ranches and vineyards in Carneros, Suscol Springs, Rutherford, and Calistoga, is aged five months in neutral French oak, while 5% ages in tank and 5% in concrete egg. Blended with 1% Sémillon, it’s aromatic, with scents of lemon and dill that lead to flavors of white flowers covered in melting lime sugar. There’s a pureness on the palate: The crystal clarity of the acidity and a wave of pink grapefruit and tropical fruit are heavenly
Apricots, lemon curd, apples, yoghurt and custard on the nose. Some white grapefruit. Medium- to full-bodied with crisp acidity and a creamy palate. Drink now.
